Introducing Soba
My friend said to me I needed to pick up a kitten she reserved for me tomorrow (13th March 2026) whether I was ready or not. She said, "All you need is some food, litter tray and bed. If you don't. someone will take him"
The following day, during break time I went to a pet shop - it was the same place where I bought Snoopy's crate, bed and toys from when he was a puppy. This time I bought an igloo bed, two litter trays, a bag of wood chips, toys, a collar (it's tiny) and some kitten food and kitten milk.
It'd been exactly 3 weeks since Snoopy was gone when I drove to Norwich to pick up Soba. I've always wanted to have a cat with cute Japanese name. A Japanese person told me that Soba doesn't only mean noodles in Japanese but also means being close to someone, so it's very sweet.
Soba has two siblings and they are both boys - one is grey like him but with shorter hair and another is black. They both were gone by the time I picked him up so the owner said to me she felt a bit sorry for him to be left to last. Why? I'd already told her I would pick him up after work ?
Anyway, Soba was so tiny! and he had one sticky eye. I met his mum and she is also grey and called Mog. Soba didn't like to be in the crate - I wanted to call in at my friend's house but he meowed so much I decided to take him home.
He came out, exploring the house as soon as I opened the crate. He ate and drank and played with the toys I bought for him. I didn't dare to wipe his eye because he was so very tiny. I thought I would do it in the morning. And if he didn't get better by a day or two I would take him to the vet's. You can check out Soba's first day at home's video on the link below.
