A walk after the rain

A walk after the rain (you can check out the video on the link)
It's been drizzling almost non-stop for a day and a half. As soon as I saw the sun came out this afternoon I immediately put Snoopy on lead and we went for a walk right away. Everything was drenched as expected but the air was fresh and it was very cold.

I actually saw some other dog walkers, how exciting! As we live in such a small village yet I have no idea who they are. I think it shows how unsociable I am.

I saw this horse a few times before as his house is on our walking route but this time he came to the fence to greet us. He is so lovely and tame. I would love to touch him if I didn't have Snoopy with me. I think he is very used to people admiring him and he was a bit surprised I didn't stroke him. I think he (I assume he is a he) is very handsome.

Then we got to the ford, the water was very deep. There was a car came by and the driver decided that the water was too deep to drive through so she turned the car around. I would've done the same. You need a 4x4 for the water that deep.

By the way, I've just found out the name of the river - it's really a tiny little river and it's called river Glaven. There are many fords across river Glaven and after the rain they're always flooded I avoid those road at all costs.

Not only the countryside was drenched in rainwater but it was so muddy. Snoopy was so dirty all over but we couldn't avoid it. He would just have to have a shower when we got home. In the meantime, he thoroughly enjoyed being wet and dirty and I was happy to see him enjoying himself.

You can't live in the countryside without getting your shoes dirty with mud. And when you have a dog, especially a Spaniel, everything about you i.e. your clothes, your house, your car won't be so clean and I'm absolutely fine with that.

The countryside looked beautiful after the rain - sort of nice and fresh - the air smelt very clean. It was nice to be able to come out - connecting to nature again.  Apart from a horse, I saw a swan. He didn't seem too happy to see us and swam away as soon as he saw us coming.

But I was quick enough to take a photograph of him. Those two were like special guests we met on our walk. There were loads of wildlife - the usual ones like pheasants, all type of birds - they made noises which made up to become the sound of the countryside.

I think they were happy too that the rain had stopped. I can't wait for spring to come - I know I've said it before.

Imagine walking through the tunnel of green leaves with birds singing overhead?

Snoopy loves every season - he doesn't say so but I know. He is living his best life too....
