Winter Solstice and Christmas in the village
HO HO HO - Happy Christmas everyone! Although I don't do Christmas but I enjoy the festivities. I mean I love the atmosphere - I enjoy being part of it but not really doing it - kind of I'm observing it - if you know what I mean.
Last year I put some tiny Crimbo decoration up but I have done nothing at all this year! I really mean NOTHING!
I donated some money to the charity - Dogs Trust, Soi Dog Foundation, St. Mungo's for homeless people and their dog - honestly, I think I'm more fond of animals than human but whatever...
I'm now re-writing my post on the 22nd December because I've just found out that my post isn't completed - most of my writing and photographs that I spent almost all of my last night were gone..... 😡😡😡 I'm so mad and so annoyed.... It makes me feel like I'm such a twat. Luckily I've checked my post again just now and I'm really perplexed as to why half of it is gone??? yes, why?? Google's ??? I'm so mad I want to bloody swear! Stupid blogspot twat...$*@!?
As usual we set off about 17:30 but it was pitch dark and the whole village was very quiet - almost like they were all abducted but us. Most of the houses were dark, only a few that the lights were on and I could take some photographs through the windows.
I love to see how people decorate their houses and now how they put their crimbo up. Unfortunately, it was so strange this evening. It was so dark and misty and the sky was black with no stars - it was so eerie and I didn't like it. So we did a very short walk.
I love simplicity and I find that less is more so it's nice to see people in the village don't go over the top with their Christmas decoration. I should've gone to town or a bigger village to get the atmosphere but I'm so exhausted. So just my tiny little village will have to do.
I suppose half of people go off on holiday somewhere nice. I won't go anywhere without my Snoopy - do I live a boring life - in a boring village - in a boring country where people can hardly wait to get away from?
The answer is NO. My life in Norfolk countryside is adequate although change of sceneries now and again would be nice. I suppose you have to like where you live, don't you? Next time I'm going to make a list of what I love about England against all the problem it's facing - isn't it everywhere though? Until then .....Happy Christmas to you all
