Twilight walk
I've just been for a walk. I went early at 15:30 as it was still light - I will tell you why later. I took this photograph on my way back at 16:05 - I just love the colour of the twilight sky - it's so ethereal. Just to say, yesterday was the shortest day so from today we will be 2 minute a day closer to Spring and to the longest day.
Now, the reason I went for a walk early this evening is because I didn't have a pleasant evening stroll yesterday. It was eerie and there was a weird white van - sort of loitering around. I mean, it was uncanny and I didn't like it - especially when you are on the country road in the dark and no one's about. When I said in the dark - it was not late, it was only 17:30 but it was just so dark. Then there was another car a 4x4 that sort of went passed, turned around and came back - but it didn't stop - it drove on but that spooked me a bit. So I decided to cut the walk short and went back home. One can't be too careful. -- my neighbourhood is perfectly safe -- but weirdos have cars, don't they? They could be anyone - an opportunist.
This evening couldn't be anything but different - the village seemed to be pretty lively - houses with lit windows and people doing things. I met two of my neighbours drove by and stopped the car talking to me. I suppose it wasn't pitch dark and it wasn't sunday like it was yesterday. Now I think I'm a bit weird going for a walk in the dark like I do - but to be honest last night was a one off weird.
Twilight time is an interesting time - it's fascinating. When I was little I used to dislike it I found it was sad sort of melancholy time. Not sure if it was because I was scared or sad that the day was over - I don't know I didn't hate night time. In fact, I've always loved night time. especially night sky. I suppose I didn't like being in limbo.
Very interesting to be on the road at twilight time - there are so much activities from both human and animals. Just to think, people are out and about doing their last minute things before it gets dark and animals are probably thinking the same. I was deafened by the sound made by pheasants, cockerel, birds while I was walking - it's actually very lovely. I think I'm going to do more of the twilight walk in the future.
Back to our walk, it'd started to get dark on the way back. And I love the silhouette of the building and the trees against twilight sky. I'm surprised myself really because this feeling is new to me. I used to think it was ghostly and spooky - I must've changed. I think it's more mysterious and tantalising when things only partially visible to you because it allows you to use your imagination.
