Walk # 3 turn left by the gate

Now that Snoopy seems to be okay on lead so I have been taken him for a walk around the neighbourhood which I have not done so since the lockdown has been lifted. I find it's very enjoyable not having to get in the car and drive off.

Let's say, I can enjoy the walk just as I step out of my front door. What did Bilbo Baggins say in The Lord of the rings or the Hobbit I'm not sure?

"You step onto the Road, and if you don't keep your feet, there's no knowing where you might be swept off to"

Well, it's not like I had to fight the dragon, kidnapped by a giant and captured by an elf as such. My neighbourhood is very rural, safe and peaceful. The adventure is only my imagination 😊

My number 3 walk is the road from my front gate and turn left. It's the way I'm used to as it's the way I normally drive to an open field where Snoopy usually go for a walk in the summer.

It's a nice walk but you won't see anything but one or two farmhouses, fields, sheep (or perhaps cattle in the summer) pheasants, partridges and hares. There is a ford which sometimes flooded and a little bridge so very scenic and it is a good way to explore nature.

The road can be busy with both cars and farm vehicles but they don't tend to go fast. Snoopy always finds the hedgerow interesting. I think there are many pheasants about and he can smell them.

The trees along side the roads are oak trees - some of them are so big and I think, very old. There usually some interesting birds like bird of prey sitting on the branch - at one time I saw an owl! in the daylight.

The beauty of it is there is no limit of how far you want to go and you can turn around and come back at anytime.  Normally I will set the target, say I want to walk until I get to the old church then come back. Otherwise, you can keep walking forever - only that by the time you have enough you might be too exhausted to walk back - 😕

You don't want to get a lift by anyone either - unless you know that person. Because when I say it's safe - it doesn't mean everything is safe. Just have to be on guard wherever you go and enjoy your stroll 😉

I enjoy walking - thanks to the beautiful Norfolk countryside where I live and my legs that are strong enough to carry me - and most of all, my Snoopy the little companion whom I've enjoyed so many walks with... Woof, woof
