Goodbye spring, see you next year
I love spring, I really do. This spring in particular is the most gorgeous spring - the weather has been wonderfully dry - plenty of sunlight - warm during the day and cold at night. As it was dry, blossom remained so long. I'm afraid I didn't capture this year lovely spring as I ought to but I personally enjoyed it and it would be very selfish not to share it now that it's officially the last day of spring in the UK. Just to remind myself of my spring moments
Pheasants are something I'm so used to as they are everywhere in the countryside. Males are colourful and prettier than females - quite opposite to human ð In spring they get really frisky (the males) they strutted and more often they got run over ðby car, not by me I don't remember last time I ran over a pheasant or any birds or beasts as I'm always, always careful. So, yes...pheasants are not just a symbol of spring but also of the English countryside.
As soon as my hay fever is back when I start to sneeze and sneeze, I know rapeseed are out. All the same, I love these pretty yellow flowers.
Although some birds don't migrate and remain here all through the winter but I still associate ducks, goose and swans are the spring things. Not only the actual birds but also their eggs! when duck and goose eggs are on sale in local farm shops. I love duck eggs so much - I consider they are my spring time treat that I can only eat once a year.
I don't know if this swan a he or a she but let's say it's a she. she is on her own and very tame. She is my super model of the year as I'm sure she knows how to post.
She comes very close - not to be fed as such as we are not allowed to feed them. I think she is so used to human taking her photographs and obliged.
Of course, there are so much more signs of spring - like people taking their classic cars out for a spin or wearing shorts on a sunny though not particularly warm day - but I think I'm going to stick with nature and leave human alone. Goodbye, Spring and see you next year.
